bio
By day, I am a network engineer/designer and Linux systems administrator.
For as long as I can remember, however, I have been engaged in some creative endeavor or another, whether it be writing, painting, or photograpy. Until 2004, I wrote poetry, and my work has appeared in Aura and the Birmingham Poetry Review.
Not unlike other photographers, my passion for the art was born when I received a camera as a gift. My grandfather gave me his old Pentax to begin recording the lives of my children. It wasn't long before I was more interested in making photos than in documenting the people and places that surrounded me. In 2005, I bought my first Polaroid SX-70 and began shooting Time-Zero film. It was then that I felt that I had really found the medium that best fit my style and vision. In many ways, my work leans towards focus on the media rather than the subjects, and so I tend towards film media. I shoot 35mm and medium format, and I also enjoy working with Toy Cameras. My work has appeared in Light Leaks Magazine and is currently being shown in a series of exhibitions in France.
